    Authorised Pickup Module

Support safer authorised pickup. With clear verification.

SooperVision's optional Authorised Pickup module uses consent-based face verification for authorised adults at the pickup point. It is separate from the CCTV cameras, and children are never enrolled or identified.

Use it standalone, integrate it into your childcare software with our SDK, or connect it to door and gate access control.

    The Problem

Pickup is the most legally exposed moment of the day.

Centres manage authorised pickups manually: parents call or email, staff find and read the email, physically check ID, and make a real-time judgement under time pressure.

The process breaks down constantly - emails get missed, staff change shifts, verbal authorisations go unrecorded.

In separated families and custody disputes, an unauthorised parent arriving to collect a child is one of the most stressful and legally dangerous situations a centre can face.

In immigrant and culturally diverse communities, extended family pickups are common but difficult to manage under the current manual system.

Without an event log, it can be difficult to review who collected a child and when.

The legal and reputational consequences of an unauthorised pickup can be serious for a centre.

"Staff shouldn't have to make split-second decisions about child safety based on an email they may not have read."

    Step by step

    How Authorised Pickup Works

    1

    Enrol Authorised Persons

Staff and authorised adults can enrol at the pickup point after providing consent. Enrolment is cooperative, applies only to authorised adults and is separate from the CCTV supervision system. Children are never enrolled.

    2

    Parent Grants Pickup Permission

Via the portal or a third-party app with SDK integration, the parent selects a registered person and grants permission - a single date, a date range, or a fixed number of pickups. Permissions expire automatically and can be revoked through the configured notification process.

    3

Face Verification at the Pickup Point

When a consenting authorised adult arrives, the dedicated pickup device checks their face against their enrolled record. Staff receive a verification result and can follow the centre's normal secondary checks when needed.

    4

    Full Audit Log Generated

Configured pickup events can be logged with the collector, time, child and authorising adult for centre review and record keeping.

    Capabilities

Tools to Support Safer, Documented Pickup

    Time-Limited Authorisations

Parents set precise expiry conditions: a specific date, a date range, or a maximum number of uses. Once the window closes, access is automatically revoked - no manual follow-up from staff.

    Live Sync with Access Control

Integrates directly with your facility's entry hardware. Approvals and revocations can sync with compatible entry hardware when a parent updates permissions.

    Custody & Court Order Blocking

Centre directors can permanently block specific individuals at the system level - independent of any parent's permissions. A documented, enforceable safeguard for custody disputes, AVOs, or court-ordered restrictions.

    Web Portal + Open SDKs

Consenting authorised adults can enrol and manage permissions through the SooperVision portal. Integration options depend on the centre's software.

    Staff Verification Screen

The staff verification screen can show a result during handover, with details configured by the service. Staff continue to follow the centre's pickup procedures.

    Audit Reports & Legal Documentation

Configured pickup events can be timestamped and reviewed by child, collector, date range or centre. Services decide how these records fit their own documentation processes.

Face verification at the pickup point

SooperVision is powered by FaceTagr, whose face recognition algorithms are independently benchmarked by NIST (US Government). Verification runs on the device, on any phone or tablet, and works offline, with data synced to secure servers in Sydney. ISO 27001 certified.

This means the accuracy you get isn't a marketing claim - it's a verified, published result from an independent government laboratory.

Face verification runs on the device for consenting, enrolled authorised adults. The module is separate from CCTV supervision, and children are never enrolled or identified. The underlying platform is ISO 27001-certified.

💡 Not the same as CCTV monitoring. The Authorised Pickup module is a dedicated identity verification system - completely separate from SooperVision's supervision and safety monitoring features. It uses a dedicated entry device, not your existing cameras.

    Real-world scenarios

    Designed for Real-World Childcare Complexity

    Separated Parents

"Dad is not authorised to collect."

A mother has sole custody and has previously had issues with the child's father arriving unannounced. She registers herself as the only authorised collector. The system permanently flags the father at the director level. When he arrives, access is denied and the director is notified through the configured notification process - with a full log entry for legal records.

    Carpool & Extended Family

"My neighbour picks up Tuesdays and Thursdays."

A working parent sets up their neighbour as an authorised collector for every Tuesday and Thursday in the school term. The neighbour registers their face once. For the entire term, they arrive, scan, and collect - no calls, no emails, no staff intervention.

    Emergency & Last-Minute Changes

"My sister is picking up today - I just found out."

A parent needs to add someone urgently. They open the portal on their phone, select their sister from the registered list, and grant a one-day authorisation. By the time the sister arrives 20 minutes later, the system already has her cleared.

    FAQs

    Frequently Asked Questions

No. Authorised Pickup uses a dedicated face verification device with cooperative, consenting authorised adults at the pickup point. It is not connected to the CCTV cameras, and children are never enrolled or identified.

Face templates for consenting, enrolled authorised adults are stored locally on the facility hardware. The module is separate from CCTV supervision, and children are never enrolled.

The staff screen shows that verification was not completed. Staff then follow the centre's standard manual identity and pickup procedures.

Yes. A parent can revoke an authorisation from the portal or app. The updated permission is sent to compatible pickup hardware.

Centre directors can permanently block individuals at the system level, independently of parent permissions. This block cannot be overridden by any parent and creates a documented record. We recommend working with your legal adviser to document the block formally.

Setup time depends on the site, hardware and integrations and is confirmed during onboarding.

The module is designed with consent and privacy controls for face verification. Each service should obtain advice about its obligations under applicable privacy and childcare laws.
